ReviewsTypes of Rubber Sheet
SBR Rubber Sheet (General Purpose)
Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (SBR) is the most common general-purpose rubber sheet compound. Cost-effective, durable and with good abrasion resistance, SBR rubber sheet is used for floor protection, workbench surfaces, gaskets, packing and anti-vibration applications. Available in thicknesses from 1mm to 25mm.
EPDM Rubber Sheet (Weather Resistant)
EPDM rubber sheet offers superior resistance to weathering, UV and ozone — making it the preferred choice for outdoor applications, roofing details and water-related uses. EPDM rubber sheet remains flexible across a wide temperature range (-40°C to +120°C).
Natural Rubber Sheet
Natural rubber sheet provides excellent tensile strength, elasticity and abrasion resistance. Used in engineering applications, conveyor systems, pump linings and wherever flexibility and durability under dynamic loads is required. Available in various Shore A hardnesses.
Silicone Rubber Sheet
Food-safe silicone rubber sheet for applications requiring high temperature resistance and FDA compliance. Temperature range -60°C to +220°C. Used in food processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing and medical device applications.
Rubber Sheet Thickness Guide
| Thickness | Common Applications |
|---|---|
| 1-2mm | Gaskets, seals, thin protective covers |
| 3-5mm | Workbench matting, light floor protection, draught seals |
| 6-10mm | Floor protection, anti-fatigue, impact protection |
| 12-20mm | Anti-vibration mounts, heavy machinery bases, isolation pads |
| 20-25mm | Maximum impact protection, heavy equipment mounting, bridge bearings |
Rubber Sheet Applications
- Industrial floor protection — heavy duty rubber sheet under machinery and equipment
- Gaskets and seals — cut gaskets from rubber sheet to specific shapes and sizes
- Anti-vibration — rubber sheet as isolation material under compressors, generators and machinery
- Workbench surfaces — rubber sheet provides a durable, non-slip workbench top
- Sound insulation — dense rubber sheet as acoustic barrier in walls, floors and machinery enclosures
- Van and vehicle lining — rubber sheet for cargo area floor protection

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between EPDM, Neoprene and Nitrile rubber sheet?
EPDM rubber sheet excels in outdoor/weather resistance and UV stability. Neoprene is ideal for moderate oil resistance with good temperature range (-40°C to +120°C). Nitrile (NBR) rubber sheet offers the best resistance to oils, fuels and hydrocarbons, making it the first choice for engineering and automotive applications.
Can rubber sheet be cut to custom sizes?
Yes, all our rubber sheet is available cut to your exact size. Simply enter your required dimensions when ordering. We supply rubber sheet from 1mm to 25mm thickness in widths up to 1.4m and can supply full rolls or custom lengths.
What temperature range can rubber sheet withstand?
Temperature resistance varies by compound. Standard natural rubber: -40°C to +70°C. EPDM: -40°C to +120°C. Neoprene: -40°C to +120°C. Nitrile: -30°C to +100°C. Silicone rubber sheet can handle extreme temperatures from -60°C to +200°C.
What thickness rubber sheet do I need for gasketing or sealing?
For gaskets and sealing applications, 1.5-3mm rubber sheet is typically used. For vibration dampening and anti-vibration mounts, 6-12mm is common. For heavy plant machinery and noise insulation, 10-25mm sheet provides optimal performance.
Is rubber sheet food safe or suitable for drinking water contact?
Food-safe and potable water grades are available in our range. Natural rubber and standard SBR are not food safe. For food contact applications, choose our FDA-approved Silicone sheet or WRAS-approved EPDM sheet. Please contact our team to confirm suitability for your specific application.
