What is Compression Set?
Compression set measures the permanent deformation remaining after rubber is compressed and released. It's expressed as a percentage—lower percentages indicate better recovery.
- 0% compression set: Perfect recovery (rubber returns fully to original thickness)
- 50% compression set: Half the compression remains permanently
- 100% compression set: No recovery (rubber stays compressed)
