Step-by-Step Installation

Step 1: Mark Out the Area

Step 2: Prepare the Ground

Remove existing turf if present (or leave if healthy). Level the ground — remove high spots, fill low spots. Compact with roller or feet.

For soft/muddy ground: Excavate 10-15cm, add MOT Type 1, compact before laying mats.

Step 3: Lay Geotextile Membrane

Measure edge gaps. Mark mats with chalk. Cut with utility knife or jigsaw. Fit cut pieces into place.

Step 6: Fill with Soil

Brush topsoil or sharp sand into holes using stiff broom. Fill to just below mat surface. Water lightly to settle.

Step 7: Seed the Grass

Scatter grass seed into filled holes. Use hard-wearing mix (rye grass based). Cover lightly with thin soil layer. Water well.

Step 8: Establishment Period

Keep watered for 4-6 weeks. Avoid heavy traffic until grass established. First mow when grass reaches 7-8cm.
